In need of convenience in the kitchen? Huntsville’s food scene can help! Our city is home to a number of unique prepared meal services that are perfect for busy families and singles, elderly family members, or even just as a way to add some healthier options into your usual dining mix. TSG Huntsville Food Contributor, Chef Adyre Mason, takes a look at some stand-outs below; there’s something for everyone!

Box Eats is a team of local cooks, led by Chef Tyler Layne, that provides delivery of ready-to-eat meals with a mix of options for any time of day. They also offer a few pickup locations in the city. New menus are posted each Wednesday and patrons must order by Friday for delivery the following Monday. Their website even includes a convenient little video about the service and how it all works.

Chefs for Seniors staffs licensed chefs to provide low-cost, dietary-specific meals to seniors. Each meal plan is 100% customizable for things such as diabetes, heart disease, and even specific styles of eating such as vegetarian. The price also includes grocery shopping and meal preparation right at the senior’s home. This is an life-changing option that ensures our elderly parents, grandparents, and other loved ones eat healthily and according to their doctor’s specifications.

Dished is a ready-to-cook meal service that currently delivers throughout Madison County. Meals are of various sizes to fit individual or family needs and are delivered frozen for easy cooking at your home. The menu changes weekly offering variety without all of the work of shopping and putting together multiple types of dishes. To take advantage of this service order by Sunday to receive delivery the following Thursday.

Lean Kitchen is a small prepared meal chain that has a location right here in Huntsville on Airport Road. Their store is a “grab and go style” experience with coolers stocked with ready-made and labeled meals for convenience. In addition to pickup at their local stores, the company partners with local gyms in the area to provide more convenient pickup options. Their meals also have all of the nutritional info you need to stay on track with your current diet or workout plan.

The Veggie Quick Service Cafe is a two-part concept mixing a fresh, 100% vegan cafe menu with convenient quick service through its Grab & Go Cooler which offers small grabs and a rotating ready-to-eat meal selection. Customers can also select from weekly rotating options of two breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. All meals are fully prepared, come with simple reheating instructions, and are labeled with allergy and calorie info. It’s a great way for vegans on the go to get their fix or a great option for those who’d love to try vegan food without cooking it themselves. The Veggie is located at Lowe Mill and is open Wednesday thru Saturday for easy pick-up or you can have them delivered via GrubSouth! (We are extra proud of The Veggie because Chef Adyre is TSG Huntsville’s Online Food Contributor!)

What’s for Supper makes chef-prepared, scratch-made meals made from basic staples- vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats – sourced locally whenever possible. They offer a weekly rotating menu suitable for individuals and families. Most deliveries are free to your home or office and they currently deliver to Huntsville, Madison, Hampton Cove, and Hazel Green.
