What inspired you to start your own business?
Coming from a global fashion editorial background, It’s always been a dream of mine to open a boutique! I have envisioned Elitaire in my head for over 14 years!
What is unique about your business?
Elitaire means “elite” in French. Staying true to our name, we have carefully selected brands that are unique to Huntsville; you can’t find them anywhere else in the city/county. The reason we did this was two fold 1) it keeps our unique factor and 2) it helps us not compete with any of the other boutiques in the area which adds to our community over competition mindset. And since Huntsville is still considered a small city, there is nothing worse than another store carrying the exact same thing right down the street and seeing yourself out and about!
We also carry many unique local brands and what I like to call Purpose Brands, that give back to women or children in someway. These items tell the best stories and make the best gifts!

Spending time with my husband, Jonathan, my cat, Harper’s Bazaar and my German Shepherd, Emmy, traveling, singing with our worship team at church, boxing, (I am an avid boxer; it’s my favorite workout of choice!) painting, reading, writing … I could keep going!
What does “LOCAL” mean to you?
To me, “local” means community. And without community, the world would be a very lonely and boring place without the dreamers, entrepreneurs and do-gooders!
What is your favorite thing about Huntsville?
It’s diversity! I’m not originally from Huntsville, and have been pleasantly surprised by all the wonderful diversity this city has! Huntsville is a true Alabama gem.
