WHAT WE’RE MAKING| Red, White, and Blue Trifle

Rhonda Ford of Turkish Treasures shared her favorite summertime recipe with us – The Red White and Blue Trifle! It tastes and looks like summer! And with the red, white, and blue colors, it’s simply perfect for the dessert table for the 4th of July get-together!

You will need:

A glass, footed trifle bowl (not pictured)

3 lbs fresh strawberries, sliced

¼ cup sugar

1 cup of heavy cream

1 3.3 oz. package white chocolate pudding mix

1 6 oz. container lemon yogurt

2 16 oz. prepared pound cakes

2 pints fresh blueberries

Directions:

Sprinkle the strawberries with the sugar and let them sit. Chill a mixing bowl, and then add the heavy cream, yogurt, pudding and beat at medium speed until fluffy. In a Trifle bowl, layer pound cake cubes on the bottom, follow with a layer of strawberries, then blueberries, and top with the whipped mixture. Repeat the layers until the trifle bowl is full.

(If desired, sprinkle coconut rum on each layer of pound cake.)

Cover and chill!
