KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

WEATHER: The weather is truly unpredictable here on the Gulf Coast. It could be raining during Mardi gras, it could be freezing, or it could warm and sunny. Be sure to check the week’s forecast to adequately prep for your frivolities. If you’re coming from out of town, be sure to bring a coat and a rain jacket just in case!

ROAD CLOSURES: During the Mardi Gras parades, the City of Orange Beach closes Highway 182 (Perdido Beach Boulevard) within the city limits of Orange Beach, Alabama to vehicular traffic on Saturday from as early as 4:00 P.M. until as late as 7:30 P.M. and again on Tuesday from as early as 1:00 P.M. until as late as 4:00 P.M. Typically, the Orange Beach Police Department keeps the roads open for as long as possible before the parade starts. For further information, call City Hall at 251-981-6979.

PARKING: The following parking lots will be open to the public:

  • West 2nd Street
  • West 1st Street
  • West 1st Avenue from Highway 59 to West 1st Street

  • Bag – you will catch a lot and will want to stash them somewhere
  • Chair – it is best to get to the parade route early to snag the best viewing spot and you will want to sit down while you wait for the parade to get to you
