Jackie Wieland is Senior Vice President/Investments at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company in Greensboro. Following graduation from Virginia Tech in 1983, Jackie moved to Winston-Salem and started her career in the financial service industry. A few years later, she and three of her colleagues moved to Greensboro to set up a new branch for A. G. Edwards & Sons. The year was 1987, and Jackie was one of only four women in the brokerage industry in Greensboro. Today she is thrilled to see many more women entering the business.

She attributes her success to viewing her work as a long-term relationship with the sole purpose of helping her clients reach their financial goals.

“I love working with Stifel because there’s no pressure to sell any specific product or service. Stifel allows us to run our practice the way we deem most appropriate. We truly act as consultants based on the needs of the individuals and companies we serve,” says Jackie.

She shares her ability and desire to serve with many non-profits in Greensboro, including past leadership roles at Women’s Resource Center, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, PHS & Sickle Cell Anemia Agency, YWCA, Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test, and the Greater Greensboro Community Foundation to name a few.

Jackie is currently serving as chairman of the Virginia Tech Carillion Medical School advisory board (the first public-private medical school in the U.S.) as a Trustee at the Institute of World Politics Graduate School based in Washington, D.C., and as a board member of the Frank Family Foundation.

“When I moved to Greensboro, I found it a wonderful community to get involved in, very open and welcoming to newcomers. But, more importantly, I have made beautiful, lasting friendships through serving,” says Jackie.

She also finds time for Pilates at Core Integrity and workouts at The Healthy Boro in downtown Greensboro. In addition, Jackie and her husband Bruce enjoy meeting friends at their favorite restaurants – Pastabilities and Osteria. Jackie is a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church.
