December Editor Loves

The holidays are my favorite time of the year! Everything is festive and fun in the Triad and you can feel
the excitement and anticipation building throughout the month. It is such a wonderful time to get out
and explore the many areas and neighborhoods that make the Triad such a delightful place to live and
work. This month, I am having fun with the holiday gear in the local boutiques as well as the plentiful
family-friendly events. You can easily spend every weekend totally busy, bouncing from event to
event….or just pause and appreciate the crisp air at one of the many local parks. Whatever you choose,
you are going to have a fun December! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite ideas below!

Holiday Shopping

Not going to lie, we have some really wonderful boutiques in the Guide this year. These business owners
all possess an impeccable eye and attention to detail that is truly worthy of your attention. These are a
few of my favorite holiday pieces for women and children below, but also check out our Holiday Gift
Guides for Her, for the Kids, and for the Home, or take a look at these businesses’ websites for even
more options!

Festive Events

There are SO MANY wonderful things to do this time of year! The Greensboro Tree Lighting is
happening tonight at First Friday in downtown Greensboro and the Winston-Salem Holiday Parade is
tomorrow morning. The famous Sunset Hills Running of the Balls takes place on December 16th. If you
haven’t had the opportunity to walk or drive through Sunset Hills, you should definitely take the time to
do that this year. Every year it gets just a little bit bigger and better. Then there are so many other
special events throughout the Triad. To name just a few scouted events….

Holiday Markets

This is the time of year for holiday markets featuring smaller local vendors. One of our favorite venues,
McAlister-Leftwich, hosts a few markets this time of year. I am excited for the one next Thursday,
December 7 th , featuring Marie Oliver, Cuffs, Elliston House, Watkins Sydnor, and a few other really great local businesses. Definitely worth checking out!

A few other market options coming up:
Saturday, December 2 from 10 AM-2 PM at Providence Farm in McLeansville. An annual event featuring
a number of local artisans and craftspeople, this event attracts quite the crowd for a fun day on this
family-owned farm.

Saturday, December 2 at Sawtooth School for Visual Arts in downtown Winston-Salem from 11 AM-7
PM, featuring over 50 local artisans.

Holiday Vendor Market at Stock + Grain Assembly in High Point on December 9 from 10 AM-4 PM
