Summertime in full swing – which means it’s time to adjust the makeup and skincare regime! Thankfully, our #Scouted expert – and, more importantly, highly sought after makeup artist – Ashley McNabb of Ashley McNabb Artistry has shared her secrets on giving your beauty products heat-beating powers, perfecting the no-makeup-makeup look and, of course, her favorite products for the hottest season of the year!

“For me, the biggest transition from color to warmer months is less make-up and more sunscreen. And, while I always tell my clients less is more – this advice does not apply to protecting the face with sunscreen! Once sunscreen has been applied for the day – every day! – I set to work on creating a dewy look that screams summer. It never goes out of style.”
“I’m sharing my favorite products for summer, which are perfect for every woman, no matter their age or skin type. My best advice when considering new products is to buy a sample or travel size before investing in the full size. Both Sephora and Alta carry wonderful selections. Not only will you be able to easily travel with your products for summer travel, but you’ll also be able to test out each of my recommended products to see if they work for you! Another note on traveling: I always store my go-to products – mascara, bronzer and lip-gloss – in my carryon so I’m ready to freshen up and go!”

Charlotte Tillbury Magic Cream | This product is iconic! A must-have for any gal looking for firmness and radiance. I noticed my skin was super soft and glowy only after a few uses. An instant turnaround moisturizer that cushions your skin for a hydrated, plumper-looking complexion!
Hourglass Unlocked Liquid Extensions Mascara | I’ve always been a mascara junkie and have tried dozens through the years, bouncing around and always looking for the next best thing. This is one of them… I absolutely love how dark it is and how it makes my lashes look thick without looking clumpy.
Hoola Bronzer by Benefit | This one is a classic and definitely an old faithful. I like a non-shimmery bronzer for the summer months. They now offer different shade ranges as well. It lasts forever! Pro Tip: Always apply bronzer in three shapes. For head cheekbone and jawline then blend away!
Tata Harper Revitalizing Body Oil | I’m a big fan of everything Tata Harper makes, and this oil is no exception. Hello, supple and soft skin! I love it for after the pool or beach and apply it to my shoulders and legs throughout the summer for a supple and soft glow!
Iconic London’s Brow Silk and Brush Bundle | Inspired by the old Hollywood trend of setting brows with soap, this product gives you the perfect Ballard brow. Soap brows are all the rage! Think Brook Shields in the ’80s! I absolutely love this makeup find. I have tried a few and this is the best to get that perfect “ Bushy” brow!
Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Fragrance | This is the scent that will complete any summer outfit and, of course, it’s one of my go-tos every summer. The scent takes me right back to the beach and is perfect for day and night.
