Making God Laugh follows a family over decades of holiday gatherings. Starting in 1980, Ruthie and Bill’s three grown children come home, where we learn of their plans and dreams. While the aging parents contend with their own changes, holiday traditions are repeated, memories revisited, and ancient tensions flare up. The family discovers that despite what is envisioned, we often arrive at unexpected destinations.
