About TSG Cleveland Editor Shirley White:
Shirley White is a born-and-raised Clevelander. A “lifer” at Shaker Heights girls’ school Hathaway Brown, Shirley attended college in Lugano, Switzerland, went to photography school in Woodstock, Vermont, and had a 15-year stint in Boulder, Colorado. Now, she uses her 32 years of photography experience and creative eye to create, with the help of Molly Nook, The Scout Guide Cleveland. Shirley considers it her mission to showcase her hometown as a true Renaissance City, and loves that her job allows her to seek out new clients and highlight local gems, throw networking events, and be creative.
When she’s not Scouting for the next volume of TSG Cleveland, Shirley indulges her passion for golf, and is proud to have had a hole in one. She also enjoys traveling to Martha’s Vineyard, Fort Lauderdale, and Southern California, and shoots real estate photography for fun in her spare time.
Shirley’s Three Favorite Reasons to Visit Cleveland, Ohio:
- The Cultural Institutions. “The museums are world class, as is the Cleveland Orchestra. And the theater is second only to New York City.”
- The Unique Areas. “We are loaded with authentic pockets, including Little Italy, the West Side Market, Tremont, Shaker Heights, Hunting Valley, and the Lake Erie Shores.”
- The Accessibility. “The airport is close to downtown, which makes visiting easy, and if the cloudy winter days start to get you down you can easily fly someplace sunny.”
