Morris & Wells might be a newer name in the Wealth Management landscape, but their roots run deep in Charlottesville. Morris & Wells evolved from the esteemed Darrell & King in 2023 to indicate that the future of the firm is sound with Beth Morris & John Wells at the helm. Jack Darrell founded what has become Morris & Wells with three clients and $900,000 under management in 1975.  Through first-class customer service and attention to their clients’ financial needs, the business has continued to grow over the subsequent 5 decades.  Their clients remain the backbone of that growth & they continue to take great care of those clients – ranging from individuals and families, to corporate retirement plans, and non-profit organizations.

What brought you to Charlottesville? Beth: I came here for school, met my husband and we raised our son here. We love Charlottesville! John: I came back to Charlottesville after being away for 10 years following graduation from UVA. My wife was in grad school in Philly and when she graduated she gave me the chance to choose where we lived next. We chose Charlottesville and never looked back!

Favorite thing about Charlottesville: Beth: I love everything about Charlottesville! We have such a diverse population, with so much to offer everyone. The arts, the food, the sports, activities for kids, all are such a draw for families and retirees. John: The tight-knit community of a college town. Charlottesville is truly a wonderful place to raise a family.
Season: Beth: My favorite season in Charlottesville is Fall. The beauty of Central Virginia really comes to life in September and October. John: Fall, because of the weather. I love the cool mornings, but still having the ability to enjoy the outdoors without bundling up.
Neighborhood: Beth: Southside is where I have lived for 20+ years. The access to the Downtown Mall and restaurants is such a draw. John: Little High/Locust Grove
