Colorful Expressions

Everyone declared that color steals the spotlight this year. From vibrant wildflowers to bright embroidery and colorful foods, couples are embracing playful and vivid elements. “Brides are reaching for gowns outside the typical bridal color palette, from colored embroidery to as bold as black,” notes Brooke of Meadowbrooke Bridal. “Bold color palettes and maximalist decor, we’re here for the citrus or jewel toned colors!”

Bow-tiful Details

Another trend sweeping the wedding scene is bows. They are adorning gowns with structured details, embellishing everything from taper candles to drink ware and place settings, and even making an appearance as hairpieces.

Intimate Authenticity

Couples are gravitating towards smaller, intimate weddings with fewer than 100 guests and focusing on creating unique experiences. In-person guest paintings, thoughtful menus, wedding weekends, and a shift away from traditional bridal parties showcase a desire for intimacy. “Couples are craving authenticity,” emphasizes Rachael with Rachael McIntosh Photography. “For photography, a documentary style is number one again, emphasizing storytelling over perfection.”

Bridal Fashion Statements

Unique trends in bridal fashion include florals in bold prints, 3D textures, and statement veils with ruffles and dewdrop features. Brides are opting for a more natural look with glowing cheeks and shorter, fluffy lashes.

Creative Event Planning

Couples are injecting creativity into the guest experience with leave-a-message guest books and an array of carts, from coffee to dessert and champagne. Candace with Mingle Events notes the rise of peaches, romantic glam, and velvet as noteworthy elements in wedding design.

Culinary Delights

Tori from Sage and Spice Catering highlights couples’ intentional menu choices, leaning towards vegetable-heavy meals and less meat. Stationed dinners, creative dessert bars with cutting cakes, and late night french fry bars ensure a memorable culinary experience for guests.

Verbena Events is seeing similar trends with cocktail-style receptions gaining traction, offering guests a variety of nibbles over a couple of hours, with options ranging from charcuterie-style grazing tables to tapas-style small plates. Creative cakes are also in demand, with couples exploring unique ideas like cake table runners and tiered vintage heart cakes.
