7 Things Our Fort Worth Owner is Loving Right Now

As advocates for small businesses, The Scout Guide owners are continually scouting their communities for local finds to share and celebrate. With their fingers on the pulse, they are also excellent sources for unique recommendations. Recently, we caught up with The Scout Guide Fort Worth owner Leigh Brown to find out what she’s really excited about these days. Here, she shares her current obsessions, from the personalized napkins that are her go-to gift to the whimsical art that’s adorning her walls.

1. WHAT I’M GIFTING

Monogrammed Hemstitch Cocktail Napkins from PS The Letter // These beautiful napkins are such a special personal touch and universally useful. They’re so fun to pull out when having friends over for cocktails.”

2. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

“Highway to the Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins // “Ever since we watched Top Gun: Maverick, which was hands-down the best movie of the summer (and maybe ever), Kenny Loggins’ classic has been the most requested song in my car by my seven-year-old son. I must admit, I’m not complaining!”

3. WHAT I’M WEARING

Natalie Martin Bella Skirt from You Are Here // “This classic maxi skirt has been my go-to this past season. I purchased three for a trip to Mexico and they will go seamlessly into fall when paired with a denim top and booties.”

4. WHAT I’M EATING

Fire Roasted Artichokes at Tavern and Seasonal Fried Okra from Ellerbe Fine Foods // “Felipe Armenta, the chef at Tavern, has mastered the art of the roasted artichoke! They are available year round and absolutely delicious. I’m also obsessed with the fried okra at Ellerbe Fine Foods. It’s truly one of the only good things about the hot, hot temps in Texas!  It’s a classic southern treat.”

5. WHAT I’M COVETING

Nouvel Heritage Thread Bangle from Jo Latham’s Fine Jewelry Boutique // “This stunning bangle is available from Jo Latham’s located inside You Are Here. It’s a major wish list item!”

6. WHERE I’M SHOPPING

Covey House and B Kids for Back-to-School Essentials // “I’m in major back-to-school shopping mode and these local boutiques have everything we need from play clothes to picture day outfits.”

7. WHAT I’M DECORATING WITH

butterfly art

Butterfly Series by artist Kristen Cassavechia at Bee Street Gallery // “I am in love with these tiny little butterfly dimensional art sculptures found at Bee Street Gallery! The artist is exclusive to the gallery and can customize the colors based on your space.”
