7 Things Our Asheville Editor Is Loving Right Now

As advocates for small businesses, The Scout Guide editors are continually scouting their communities for local finds to share and celebrate. With their fingers on the pulse, they are also excellent sources for unique recommendations. Recently, we caught up with The Scout Guide Asheville editor Meagan Harris to find out what she’s really excited about these days. Here, she shares her current obsessions, from her go-to hostess gift to her wardrobe essential.

1. WHAT I’M WATCHING

Bad Sisters on Apple TV // “ I can’t get enough of this dark comedy/thriller. I think it’s the first time in my life that I’ve ever stayed in to catch a show!”

2. WHAT I’M WEARING

Dress shirts from Hazel Twenty // “You’ll see me in the Out West Shirt from Faherty Brand from Hazel Twenty and a pair of jeans more often than not! This classic look is easy to dress up or down, which is perfect for my days running around town for work and hitting the pitch or courts afterwards to watch my kids’ games.”

3. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

Anything and everything Leon Bridges. // “I’m a big time fan of Leon Bridges and as of late his complete catalog has been on repeat in my car, at home, and in my headphones. I can’t get enough.”

4. WHAT I’M GIFTING

Camp Craft Cocktails from Provisions Mercantile // “This whole concept is such a marvelous idea. These craft cocktails in a jar are my go-to hostess gift. And I always pick up a few for myself because they’re perfect to have on hand when friends come over for impromptu no-fuss cocktails.”

5. WHERE I’M GOING

Highlands Food + Wine Festival November 10 – 13 in Highlands, North Carolina // “I’m heading to the hills to enjoy a weekend of incredible food, exquisite wine, and world class music. We look forward to this festival every year. It’s truly one of the southeast’s most celebrated occasions.”

6. WHAT I’M COVETING

Zadig & Voltaire Venus Tailored Blazer at blu29 // “This straight-cut blazer is a wardrobe essential. This one stands out with incredible tailoring, chic button details, and the color has me dreaming in blue.”

7. WHAT I’M EATING

Finch Gourmet Market + Wine Bar and Baby Bull // “I’m enjoying dining out more than ever. My go-to spots are the newly opened Finch for their chicken salad sandwich on sourdough and Baby Bull for their lobster roll or double cheeseburger.”
