A Carefully Though Out Kitchen

The kitchen remodel can be a dreaded event. This is mainly due to the fact that when the room is out of commission for any period of time it’s a complete inconvenience, but also because there are so many decisions to make. Here are a few things to consider when the time comes to redo yours:

  1. Don’t overlook the importance of drawers. This is where items that are impossible to stow in cupboards or on countertops in a way that looks organized go to disappear. Take depth into consideration – you’ll want shallow, deep, and some in-between – and think about how their placement relates to nearby appliances.
  2. Consider how you like to entertain. Do you like to do the cooking yourself? If so, you might want to make sure there’s a nice place – preferably in a no-splatter zone – for guests to sit and keep you company while you put the finishing touches on the meal. Do you host large groups or enjoy making elaborate dinners? Two ovens can be a game-changer if that’s the case.
  3. Invest in nice countertops. These can make or break the overall look of a kitchen, and even if you eventually replace them you can repurpose the high quality material into something else for your home.
