December is never dull. Between preparing for the holidays and attending festive activities, the weeks tend to fly by, and thanks to an exciting slate of events in our Scouted cities, this year will be no exception. From art festivals to ballet performances to holiday parades, here’s what we are looking forward to in the month ahead.

Cleveland, Ohio

On December 1st, the Cleveland History Center will hold the 36th Annual Holiday Market on the Farm at Hale Farm & Village, with a variety of local vendors on hand to sell all sorts of items perfect for holiday gift-giving. Columbus, Ohio

Art enthusiasts looking to get into the holiday spirit, mark your calendars: Columbus Museum of Art Chief Curator David Stark will present a holiday-themed lecture on December 13th. The Christmas Story in Art will explore depictions of the Christmas story in various works while selections of Christmas-themed music accompany the discussion. Hunt Country

Hunt Country’s signature holiday event, Christmas in Middleburg, will return to Middleburg, Virginia, on December 2nd, and the main parade featuring mounted foxhunters and hounds as they trot down the town’s main street accompanied by floats and other animal participants is not to be missed. Jackson Hole, Wyoming

On December 14th, The Grand Teton Music Festival will present The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD, The Magic Flute at The Center for the Arts. Lexington, Kentucky

Local retailer of charming children’s apparel Bella Bliss is moving locations, and to celebrate, they are having a warehouse sale at their new home at 800 Winchester Road from December 6th – 9th. Miami, Florida

Currently in its 16th year, Miami Art Week will present Art Basel from December 4th through 10th. Over 250 premier modern and contemporary art galleries will display paintings, sculptures, photography, and film at the week-long show that curators, artists, and collectors come from all over the world to attend. Palm Beach, Florida

On December 2nd, the Second Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival will take place in the West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District. Richmond, Virginia

From December 9th – 23rd, the Richmond Ballet will hold performances of The Nutcracker.
