The Scouted Calendar / October 2016

The first true month of fall, October ushers in crisp weather and a welcome sense of routine after September’s busy, back-to-school re-set. In addition to sweater weather and the changing of seasons, the month brings a variety of exciting events in our Scouted communities; from a chic tailgate party in Dallas to a classic car show in Hilton Head to an opportunity to tour some of Savannah’s historic private homes, here’s what’s on our October Scouted calendar:

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

A perfect fall outing, Ann Connelly Fine Art (4221 Perkins Road) is hosting an opening reception for Megan Singleton’s “Flora & Fauna” on Thursday, October 13 from 5:30 – 7 p.m., during which visitors can get a first look at the artist’s mesmerizing, nature-inspired works. {Find local recommendations for what to do and see in Baton Rouge here.}

Dallas, Texas

The Red River Showdown between the University of Oklahoma Sooners and University of Texas Longhorns takes place on October 8 in Dallas. In honor of the face-off, TSG Dallas, TSG Oklahoma City, and TSG Austin are hosting a “Red River Scout Out” tailgate event in partnership with Market at Highland Park Village on Friday, October 7 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Market (26 Highland Park Village). If you’re interested in additional details, please send an inquiry to [email protected]. High Point, North Carolina

The home furnishings event of the season takes place in High Point, North Carolina, October 22 – 26. Hilton Head, South Carolina

From Friday, October 28 through Sunday, November 6, the Hilton Head Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance celebrates automotive excellence with a variety of events that classic car enthusiasts will love.{Find local recommendations for what to do and see in Hilton Head here.}

Jackson, Mississippi

The Country Club of Jackson will host the Sanderson Farms Championship, Mississippi’s PGA event, October 24-30. The list of tournament activities includes a Women’s Day Luncheon, Pro Practice Rounds, and four days of great golf. {Find local recommendations for what to do and see in Jackson here.}

Raleigh | Durham | Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The North Carolina Museum of Art debuts “Rolling Sculpture: Art Deco Cars from the 1930s and 40s” on Saturday, October 1. Savannah, Georgia

October 7 – 9, The Georgia Trust invites attendees to explore historic homes and some of Savannah’s most interesting sites during their Fall Ramble.
