Pretty in Pink: One Palette, Three Ways

There’s something about pink that seems so perfect for the time during which spring transitions to summer. Pale, pretty, and at times delightfully preppy, as the Amina Rubinacci Gerrick jacket in rose above proves, the color feels fresh, polished, and ready for warm-weather fun. And while we tend to think of a white blazer as being a must-have spring/summer staple, this year we’re mixing it up with one in a beautifully muted hue.

Pretty in Pink: Her

Light pink can be sweet yet sophisticated, especially when used for a gorgeously structured piece like the Stella McCartney top available from Naples’s Marissa Collections (above, left). The bubblegum shade pairs particularly well with white, resulting in a crisp, clean look. A slightly dustier tone stands up well to black, as the Rag & Bone dress available from Richmond’s Roan shows, creating an ensemble that is feminine with an edge. The stylish silk number is a lovely take on the spring 2015 shirtdress trend.

Pretty in Pink: Little Ones

Girls just want to have fun—in pretty pink dresses, of course. The above image, from Bonpoint’s summer 2015 campaign, beautifully captures why this is the color of choice for the younger set: Fairy-worthy and fit for a princess, it was made for floaty fabrics.

Whether the look in question is casual and sporty like the girls’ Bonpoint outfit (above, left) and boy’s bathing suit (also by Bonpoint) or traditionally dressy like the cotton pleated Mitzi dress by Lexington’s Bella Bliss, when it comes to kids’ summer clothing, you can’t go wrong when you think pink.

Pretty in Pink: Him

We admit to having a soft spot for men in pastel shades, and the above image from Dallas’s Pockets Menswear’s spring 2015 lookbook shows why. Paired with a cuffed pale blue pant, the perfectly fitting pink striped shirt looks sharp and summer getaway-ready.

Nantucket red is a summer tradition, and the linen and cotton shorts by J. Hilburn are destined to remain a wardrobe classic for years to come. A pink linen button-down is another effortlessly cool item that every man should have in his closet; available from Marissa Collections, Orlebar Brown’s Malone shirt in flamingo is eye-catching in the very best way. Finally, swim trunks bearing stripes in shades of pink are perfect pool-side attire. Call and claim the above bathing suit available from Austin’s Sunroom today.
