About TSG Oklahoma City Editors Emmi Kobs and Roberta Roush
TSG Oklahoma City Co-Editor Roberta Roush was born in Perrysburg, Ohio, and is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and The Institute of Paralegal Training in Philadelphia. She met her husband on a blind date more than 30 years ago when they were living on opposite coasts, and after a short courtship were engaged and married a year later. They eventually settled in Oklahoma City, where they raised three children (including Co-Editor Emmi Kobs).
Over the years, Roberta worked in human resources for a company that she and her husband started several years ago, and spent many hours on volunteer committees for non-profit organizations in her community. When Roberta’s daughter Emmi moved back to Oklahoma City from Dallas, they agreed it was time to bring The Scout Guide to their town. As Editor, Roberta enjoys learning new things about Oklahoma City and getting to know the hardworking people behind the great local businesses there. When she’s not working, she enjoys running and attending exercise classes with her friends and spending time with her family.
TSG Oklahoma City Co-Editor Emmi Kobs graduated from Texas Christian University, where she earned a fashion merchandising degree. She started her climb up the corporate fashion ladder at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, then went to work for a startup called Luxury Garage Sale. When her husband got a job in Oklahoma City, Emmi returned to her hometown.
Emmi first saw The Scout Guide in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, when she was in town for her wedding, and she was an immediate fan. Her favorite aspect of being an Editor is the creative process.
When Emmi is not working, she loves to be a mom to her two fur babies, Biscuit and Jackson. In her off time, you can find her either playing tennis or sipping a cocktail on the patio.
Emmi and Roberta’s Three Favorite Reasons to Visit Oklahoma City:
- Unique Local Businesses. “Oklahoma City is very local-centric. We have amazing local businesses that are unlike any you’ll find in any other city,” Emmi says.
- The People. “The people of Oklahoma are some of the nicest people you will ever meet,” Roberta says.
- Whatever You Want! “There is something for everyone in Oklahoma City,” Emmi says. Roberta adds, “We have world class museums, major league sports, great festivals, and amazing food.”
