Dive In: 17 Cool Pools That Have Us Looking Forward to Summer

The official first day of summer is still days away, yet here at TSG HQ temperatures have reached August-appropriate heights. We’ve already broken into our heat-fighting arsenal of white linen and icy treats, but when the mercury pushes past ninety, the only remedy comes in the form of a cool, blue pool—preferably complete with chic cabana a la the above scene by Palm Beach’s Katherine Shenaman Interiors.

The Primavera Way project by Palm Beach’s Benitz Building (top) and pool house addition in Washington, D.C. by BOWA (above) are stunning symmetrical settings with structures that convey a sense of calm to match the still blue water. It’s hard to imagine a more tranquil place to spend a summer afternoon.

Clean lines and contrasting materials make this pool area by Nashville-based Bonadies Architect feel not just refreshing, but perfectly situated in its surroundings.

Minimal and modern, the infinity pool in this project by Austin’s Matt Garcia Design is wonderfully serene and optimizes the impressive view.

There are so many things to love about this project by Austin’s Root Design Company. Just imagining starting or ending the day by swimming laps in a pool with such a spectacular view and perfectly aligned elements makes us feel at peace.

Above, right: A lap pool is bordered by a wonderfully lush setting in a project by Atlanta-based landscape architecture and design firm Planters.

Palm Beach-based Benitz Building’s portfolio is a wealth of pool eye candy, as exhibited by their Seaview Avenue project.

Another beauty by Benitz Building: Their Lagomar Road project. It’s difficult to picture an outdoor space more primed for entertaining and enjoyment.

Charleston’s Herlong & Associates are absolute experts when it comes to Lowcountry retreats, and their Charleston Harbor Estate project illustrates why. Porches, patios, balconies, a beautiful pool…what better way to enjoy the seaside surroundings?

Beauty abounds at the pool settings by Princeton’s Glen Fries Associates Architects. Each would feel like a secret garden-like oasis on a summer’s day.

With apologies to TSG HQ, we’ll be spending the rest of the summer at this Root Design Company-created wonderland.
