Healing the Whole You at the Center for Collaborative Health

Being the best version of yourself can be attained through self-care focused on healing the whole self, inside and out. This was one reason Nicole and Macarena opened the doors to the Center for Collaborative Health (CCH) in 2016. They observed that the most significant growth occurred when psychotherapy services were paired with other adjunctive services, such as proper nutrition and movement.

At CCH, you’ll find a range of research-backed wellness services that provide an integrative and empowering approach to healing and preventative care. They recognize that many factors contribute to health and quality of life. Their wellness services aim not only to treat physical symptoms but also to help people achieve emotional balance, restore their sense of well-being, and get back in touch with what makes them feel truly alive.

WHAT MAKES THE CENTER FOR COLLABORATIVE HEALTH DIFFERENT?

The goal at CCH is to provide an approach to healing and mental health that integrates traditional psychotherapy with alternative interventions such as yoga, acupuncture, therapeutic touch, and other energy and intuitive healing methods, as well as proper nutrition and supplementation. They believe they can improve mood, change behaviors, promote recovery from physical and emotional injuries, and improve overall health if a collaborative approach is taken that considers the whole person and their environment. As opposed to other holistic mental health clinics, at CCH, a person can enjoy wellness services as a stand alone option as a preventative or maintenance tool to their mental health and not just as a complement to their psychotherapy.

CCH is also unique in that it was founded by two women dedicated to offering a more balanced approach to healthcare. As such, they employ female practitioners only and dedicate themselves to providing innovative preventative care so you can better achieve wellness on every level—emotionally as well as physically.

CURRENT WELLNESS OFFERINGS:

Acupuncture & Cupping

Acupuncture benefits the body and mind by correcting imbalances and putting us back in touch with ourselves. Acupuncture needles are inserted at specific points in our bodies that activate the body’s biofeedback system and initiate its natural self-healing response. This therapy can treat pain, migraines, tension headaches, stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, infertility, abdominal distress and constipation!

Cupping therapy is the inverse of the massage; instead of pressing into muscles, the cups pull upward, creating a gentle suction. Cupping is a soothing and relaxing therapy that improves blood flow to the tissues, reduces pain and tension, and decreases inflammation. The benefits include better sleep, clearer skin, reduced pain, decreased muscle tension, improved whole-body functioning, and much more!

Nutrition Counseling

How you feel has a lot to do with what you eat. With no one size fits all plans, you’ll find individualized nutrition advice and treatment plans that work for you with recommendations for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and mental health conditions. They also guide an improved relationship between food and your body and assist in creating enjoyable meals based on the resources available to you.

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TC-TSY)

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an evidence-based clinical treatment for complex trauma and PTSD. During a session, their clinicians will provide you with options for physical movements and invite you to choose how you wish to move (or not). You are encouraged to notice sensations in your body and modify your movements accordingly. Thus, the emphasis is not on doing the movement “correctly” but on becoming more aware of how you feel internally and regaining a sense of agency over your body.

Shamanic Healing – NEW*

Shamanic Healing works with the unconscious realm of the Mind in Body template. Components of the “mind” are etched deeply into our autonomic nervous system, immune system, hormonal system, down to the molecules that control the expression of our DNA. With this healing modality, getting to the root cause of illness is done by speaking to aspects of our spirit and soul. Shamanic sessions are held within a sacred space; where clients can incorporate a sense of grounded-ness with the earth, a connection to the living things around us and the capacity to envision our healed state. This Healing method is an opportunity to transform dis-ease, whether “mental” or “physical,” into gifts that fuel our growth by gently releasing these imprints to come back to balance; a state that fuels the healing process. Shamanic Healing is appropriate for all ages of people presenting with a variety of concerns ranging from chronic pain syndromes, to chronic diseases such as post-viral syndromes, fibromyalgia to psychological presentations of anxiety and depression.

Therapeutic Massage – NEW*

Therapeutic Massage is their newest program to develop and support whole-health wellness. Therapeutic massage is a modality tailored to each individual’s treatment needs, using a variety of techniques and movements, to stimulate the body’s soft tissue – the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage therapy has been known to offer many benefits for a number of mental health conditions including, depression, anxiety, and stress.
