4th of July Soirée
This year, we’re ditching the backyard barbeque for a stylish dinner party to celebrate our patriotism. The ever-fashionable Ruth Campbell, merchandising manager of Celedon and freelance design consultant, sets our table and gives tips on the art of entertaining.
Tip 1: Line your stoop or flank your front door with lanterns to make your guests feel instantly welcomed and set the mood right from the start.
Tip 2: Choose an eye-catching tablecloth to bring your spread to life. Anything can be used to transform a table: a casual throw, sheet or even shower curtain.
Tip 3: Keep the tabletop neutral and simple. The bright tablecloth will stand out more and the food will take center stage.
Tip 4: The more candles, the better. If planning your meal al fresco, be sure to light Citronella candles an hour before guests arrive to keep your party mosquito-free.
All items can be found at Celadon.
Tell ‘em Scout sent you,
I’m a tablecloth junkie! Next time I’m in MtP I must stop in to Celedon and fill up! (I always do when in town!)
Getting ready for my neighborhood’s 4th of July parade and picnic at the marina w/ 200 plus residents. This event always brings tears to my eyes, it’s so smaltzy and sweet.
