Elizabeth Locke…The Other Elizabeth
We were on location yesterday in Boyce, Virginia, where The Scout Guide Hunt Country was shooting one of its newest clients, Elizabeth Locke at her flagship store, The Other Elizabeth. We were fascinated to learn her tale that inspired the store’s name, affectionately called The Contessa’s Story, and to enter the fairytale world that captivated us.
A sampling of her famed jewels.

The store is called The Other Elizabeth, inspired by a (fictional but elaborate) tale. The story goes that Elizabeth had a long lost twin, also named Elizabeth, whose wanderings include Memphis, TN and Graceland while finally leaving her married to a Conte in Venice. When the twins finally found one another, twin Elizabeth was despondent and in desperate straits. Elizabeth Locke brought her sister back to curate the store, hence its name and its decor. Above, the other Elizabeth’s Venetian-inspired bedroom.
Italian architecture and furnishings to make the Contessa feel at home.
Note the Elvis paraphernalia through out the store (since the other Elizabeth once lived at Graceland).

Because of her sister’s erratic sleeping schedule, the store is open only on weekends.
People fly in from all over the country to spend a few hours shopping at The Other Elizabeth. Their first stop is the Locke Store (no relation) for a great lunch–the vegetable tart is to die for. Not to be missed in the area is Haute luxury fabrics… quite the find for great fabrics at wholesale prices in Marshall, VA. Two great destinations off the beaten path.

Don’t miss this enchanting destination. You’re in for a real treat.
So excited to see The Scout Guide Hunt Country (Virginia) make its debut this September. Thanks to everyone at Elizabeth Locke for giving us this behind the scenes look.
